Festival Time in Loughborough’s Historic Market Place!
A fantastic celebration of culture and the diversity of Charnwood!
‘Streets Alive!’ is an annual celebratory event in the streets ofLoughborough that combines music, live performances, street stalls and an excellent selection of food. The event will again be supported by our French friends, who this year, will provide a unique Continental Craft Market offering a wide range of both hand crafted and manufactured goods from throughout Europe. This will be supported by our very own local traders offering fine English crafts alongside our continental colleagues. We invite you to take a tour through Europe and visit the variety of stalls offering a rich flavour of continental charm and hope that you truly enjoy this unique shopping experience.
The Market opens at 10.00 am, then from 12 noon until 5.00pm the streets will come alive with the sound of music from this year’s ‘Charnwood’s Got Talent’ stars, the summer sounds of local Skafavourites, Ska-Amanga and much much more!

Glastonbudget, the Mecca of Tribute, is now in its 6th year and saw more than 5,000 fans cram-in to see more that 130 amazing bands play 6 stages in May. Next year’s extravaganza of Europe’s best tribute bands and New Acts will be even better. Glastonbudget Music Festival 2010 takes place at Turnpost Farm in Wymeswold, Leicestershire on May 28th, 29th and 30th, 2010.
“Glastonbudget has always been about great music, and great value, this year was the greatest Glastonbudget ever, so we are celebrating and have decided to sell our budget festival tickets using the ultimate budget festival system. Rather like the budget airlines our tickets will be starting at 99p.” Chris Dunn (Co-Organiser)
“This year was my first at Glastonbudget and loved every minute of it. It made my birthday the best ever! So excited by these tickets, hoping to get ten but if I only get two for me and the other half I will be happy” Hayley
“What a weekend 09 was, this was our first visit and what can we say you all don’t know already. We had not ever heard of Glastonbudget, and only found it by chance the Monday before the event. All we can say is we are now hooked, we have driven our friends in to a frenzy ready for next year.” Mark and Bev – Gt Yarmouth
“I had 4 primary school kids in tow … I was a bit apprehensive about taking them all but I needn’t have worried – it was a safe environment and they loved it.”
“That’s the difference between GB and other mainstream festivals; it’s not about extracting as much money as possible from the paying public. But giving them an event to remember and in this current climate, value for money. The festival is about the provision of entertainment and fun for everyone.” Paul Mitchell, Loughborough Echo
Glastonbudget Festival tickets go on sale on Thursday 23rd of July from 8am, and are available from the festival’s website at www.glastonbudget.net.

Now into its fifth year, Glastonbudget, as the name suggests, is a budget weekend music festival not to be missed in Leicestershire, that rivals any of the bigger festivals in true tribute style yes Tribute style meaning tribute bands. It all started in 2005, when we gathered 18 of the top tribute bands from around Europe and put together one hell of a weekend. Since then it has grown and grown and is now the biggest and best tribute and new music festival in Europe. This year we are hoping it will be even bigger still.
It now also includes over 100 new acts from not only the UK but around the world. And a wide range of alternative entertainment. All in all it makes for a cracking weekend!
In true Glastonbury style the weather did not let us down last year and the rain macs and wellies were to be seen in abundance but hey! this only added to a fantastic time that was had by all.
From the the burgers to the bands everything was tip top.
Many people commented on how well it was organised, how much of a friendly, community atmosphere was created and how near total strangers became part of the most friendly music loving festival that people had ever witnessed.
One of the biggest things for us is to make sure that we are rip-off free i.e. tickets, beer, food plus the availability of services i.e. queues to toilets, foodstalls.
So onwards to GB 09! And we hope to see you there on 22nd, 23rd & 24th May.
